Marketing and Communications Intern

Overview

Are you a creative storyteller with excellent writing skills who is always on top of the latest social media trends? Have you ever thought, "I wish content creation were a job?" Well, look no further, because this is not your average internship. Content creation should be fun! At Coffee Milk Media, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and creative environment where you will gain real-world experience to prepare you for your future career.

Internships are primarily unpaid. This is a learning environment, so our goal is to help interns identify their strengths, focus on areas that need improvement, and gain experience. We are happy to provide class credits! Although this is an unpaid role, we will provide lunch and a stipend for transportation for any onsite events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies.

  • Support the creation and distribution of press releases, newsletters, and other marketing materials.

  • Help manage and produce content for social media platforms, including tracking trends and engagement metrics.

  • Contribute to the coordination of various communications projects, including event promotions and public information campaigns.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for creative marketing initiatives.

  • Perform research to support PR planning.

  • Engage with community members and stakeholders to foster positive relationships.

  • Monitor media coverage and compile reports on media mentions.

  • Provide logistical support for special events and projects.

  • Write at least one article per month for web articles.

 

 

Must-Haves

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated interest in social media and proficiency with major social media platforms.

  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and community engagement.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and content management systems is a plus.

 

Scheduling/Availability

Interns are expected to work at least 5 hours per week at their convenience.
